Are you passionate about improving the education of young people? Do you want to work alongside students that need additional support?

This is exciting opportunity has arisen due to a higher intake than normal of students that have additional needs.

  • Full time Teaching Assistant role from September 2019
  • Temporary contract until July 2020 in the first instance
  • Opportunity to stay at the school permanently

Our partner school is situated in the Prestwich area of Bury, North Manchester. It is easily accessible through a number of public transport options and is a short drive from the M60 motorway. This smaller than average secondary school has fewer than 900 students, and the school building had a major refurbishment in 2010. In recent years, the school has built on previous successes and continue to strive for further improvement, with students' academic progress at the forefront of all priorities and an excellent climate for learning being embedded.

As a Teaching Assistant, the successful candidate will be supporting a range of different learners to reach their full potential within all of their subjects. These pupils may have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) or may display challenging behaviour. Daily roles vary from supporting small groups within the class, to support on a 1:1 basis, as well as delivering pre-planned content on behalf of the class teacher. This highly rewarding role is essential to both students and schools performing to the best of their abilities. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to build rapport with students in order to help them perform to their best of their ability. Excellent behaviour management skills and SEN experience is highly desirable.
