We work closely with a variety of SEN schools across the South Derbyshire area and they are seeking Teaching Assistants to support children who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. You don't need to have specific qualifications, we are looking for candidates with the right attitude and personality to helping those with Special Needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will start after the February half term break and it is likely that you will end up in a long term role, or perhaps working across a few schools on a regular basis until the end of the academic year.

We're looking for someone who...

Will ideally be available between 3 and 5 days per week and have access to a car. Many of our provisions cater for children in both a primary and secondary age range so an open mind to working with all ages is desirable. If you don't have experience of working witin a school environment, we are still interested in hearing about any transferable skills you may feel are suitable. A flexible and resilient attitude is essential! Any experience working in a carer or youth work environment is also desirable.

The role...

Each day will be different. You will be working in different classrooms across Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4. You will assist with general classroom duties and activities, as well as occasionally providing 121 support for pupils struggling to work within the classroom.
