Role: SEN support Assistant (Year 1)

Location: Stalybridge

Salary: GBP285 - GBP300 per week

Start Date: September 2020

A Primary School in Stalybridge are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with a Hearing Impairment (HI). The one form entry Catholic school are looking for a support assistant who has experience working with children with a HI and are able to communicate via Makaton or Sign Language. The school has a real friendly feel with a staff team that work together as one to provide the best education for every child in their care.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be able to build positive and effective relationships with children and staff.

• Experience teaching Phonics.

• Be able to communicate through Makaton or Sign Language.

• Have experience working with children with a Hearing Impairment.

• Be flexible and approachable.

• Be innovative and have the ability to use their own initiative with regards to planning 1:1 sessions.

 

Requirements for the vacancy:

• Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

• DBS on the update service or be willing to get one.

• Relevant Key Stage experience.

• Ability to work effectively in a team.
