A reputable Primary School in PRESTON are looking to secure a FULL TIME Teaching Assistant to support two children who have recently joined the school in KS2. The working hours for this role are 8:30-15:30.
The Headteacher is hoping to secure a practitioner who has experience working alongside children displaying challenging behaviours and who is experienced de-escalating. Candidates with experience in an inner city Primary School, a Secondary background or a Support Worker/ Residential Care background would be ideal for this role. Both children have Social and Emotional Mental Health issues, and respond well to a firm but fair approach.
This role is FIVE DAYS per week – ASAP Start. The role will run until July 2020.
In order to be considered you must have…
- Experience working alongside children within the past 12 months.
- Minimum Level 2+ childcare relate qualification.
- An open minded and patient attitude with the ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Have a passion for delivering high quality education for each child.
- Five day availability.
- The child often displays challenging behaviours; therefore Team Teach training would be advantageous but not essential.
This school serves a mixed catchment area; behaviour in school is generally good due to the robust behaviour policy developed by the Senior Leadership Team over a number of years and the Head teacher is committed to this continuing. The Headteacher has an ‘open door’ policy is always open to ideas that will contribute toward School Improvement. The Headteacher is well respected by staff in school and has an excellent reputation within the local area., resulting in the school being over-subscribed.
