About the School:
A PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) for students between the ages of 12-16, who have been excluded from mainstream education. All students have behavioural difficulties such as SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs), ADHD and Autism.
The schools aim is to ensure every pupil has the opportunity to achieve his or her best. They are extremely successful and provide a personalised education which is always tailored to the individual needs of the pupil.
About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be given the opportunity to manage young people’s academic progress and positively influence their lives. Your role will include providing personalised support for students in the classroom and in the local community.
We are looking for confident Teaching Assistants to work on a 1-1 basis with pupils, your responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with the class teacher regarding lesson plans and expectations
- Supporting the pupil with their work
- Managing behaviour expectations
- Supporting pupils emotional needs
We currently have a need for full time, part time and flexible staff.
What are we looking for?
For this position, it is essential you have experience supporting individuals with behavioural difficulties. We find that applicants with a background in Youth Work are well suited to this position.
You will have the knowledge and ability to manage challenging behaviour in a way which still produces positive outcomes.

Due to the varying needs and age of the students at this school, we are looking for applicants who have a flexible approach to work. Although rewarding, working with such vulnerable young people can be extremely challenging so we are looking for team players with a great sense of humour.
