A Primary School in Maidstone have reached out to Teaching Personnel in need of a Support Assistant to work amongst Year 1 and Year 2 on a full time basis working Monday to Friday from Monday 27th January 2020. In the mornings you are required to work with small groups of children in Year 1, delivering Phonics based interventions working with children who aren’t reaching their age related expectations. During the afternoon sessions, the role is to be a general class Teaching Assistant supporting the Class Teacher in Year 2 with the afternoon lessons, because of this the Head Teacher would prefer a Candidate with a good understanding of the National Curriculum.

This Primary School is a good school by Ofsted & has excellent links within the community. The school does have a mixed catchment and is classed as having ‘a wide range of abilities. The Head Teacher said she is keen to continue to raise attainment throughout the School and is looking to employ a dedicated and hardworking staff member with a great work ethic. She has also stated the pupils behaviour is ‘Generally very good’ but ‘Like any school has its challenging days which we tackle head first’. The successful Practitioner must have good behaviour management and have a secure knowledge of current Behaviour Policies.

The head stated that this role could be permanent for the ‘right person’.
