Teaching Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic person looking to work in a challenging and fast paced environment? Have you recently graduated with a Degree relating to Psychology, Counselling or Education? Or have you previously worked in as a Support worker, or in a care setting? We are currently working with an organisation in the Bury area and they are looking for Teaching assistants who have experience with young people with SEMH and ASC needs, and the behaviours displayed as a result of these needs. The school are hoping to employ the successful Teaching assistant from September 2020.

We work with all the individual schools that fall under this organisation. The schools are based in the Whitefield, Radcliffe, and Edenfield area. All the schools under this organisation cater for children that may have been excluded from mainstream education or have additional needs such as ASC, that mean they have difficulty in adjusting to mainstream education.

The candidates

All candidates for this post must have a Team- teach qualification or be willing to work towards one which can be provided on our CPD programmes. Due to the behaviours young people display in this school Team- teach training is essential. The organisation has also stated that direct experience in an education-based environment is not imperative, although desired. You must have or demonstrate the following skills:

• Team- teach (or a willingness to undergo Team- teach training)
• Experience working with adults/young people with ASC and/or SEMH difficulties
• Resilient Nature
• Caring with the ability to empathise with young people
• Patient
• A willingness to go above and beyond expectations

What we can provide

Teaching Personnel are education specialists with 23 years experience in the field. You will be provided with your own specialist consultant who will take care of your needs and advise you through the clearing and work process. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
