Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for people with experience in healthcare, support or counselling to work as a Teaching Assistant in a school in St Austell.

We believe that having experience in other fields outside of education can be really beneficial to providing a new skill set within schools and are wanting people with experience of working with children and vulnerable people to work alongside us. We have roles available on both part time and full time hours and can often certain levels of flexibility if needed.

Having a relevant qualification or having had previous training in a transferable role is desired and this could include Manual Handling, MAPA, Care Certificate, Understanding Autism etc. If you have worked within the last six years, for a minimum of 3 months within any of the following roles, we’d love to hear from you;

-Care Assistant

-Support Worker

-Coach

-Guide / Leader

-Teaching Assistant,

-Counsellor

Within your new role, you will be working within a classroom setting supporting the needs of a range of children. This may require you to support the whole class, small groups and even 1:1. By working within the classroom you will assist the Teacher of general classroom tasks as well as liaising with them and other professionals with regards to each child’s development. Lunchtime duty may be asked, and roles have the potential to lead to permanent contracts.

Teaching Personnel offer FREE Safeguarding and Prevent training as well as having an extensive list of additional CPD courses for a highly discounted rate. We offer Team Teach regularly and will support you with all career development.

You will be paid on a weekly Friday basis and be offered additional bonus’ for referrals. You will have automatic enrolment into our pension scheme and work consistently with a specialist consultant dedicated to your age and subject specialism.

TP are dedicated to the safeguarding of children and therefore do require a child only enhanced DBS on the Update Service. If you already have this, great, but if not, you will required to have this done for a cost of GBP40 for the DBS and GBP13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
