Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a secondary school located in Bolton that wishes to appoint a number of Teaching Assistants on a full-time basis ahead of the new academic year, September 2019.

Successful applicants joining the school will gain employment on a 12 month basis for the full academic year and may even have the opportunity to earn a permanent contract with the school later in the year.

  • Full-time Teaching Assistant
  • Competitive pay with earning potential of up to £350 per week
  • September 2019 start date with employment on a 12 month temporary basis.
  • Previous experience preferred but is by no means essential
  • Trials and interviews to be held in the coming weeks.

As a Teaching Assistant working within our partner secondary school you must be able to communicate effectively with young people to support learning and development, be flexible and committed to the outcomes of students within the school. You should be calm, confident and demonstrate a professional approach in your dealings with young people, staff and parents alike.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates and those considering a career in teaching and will allow for staff members to gain valuable experience in a secondary school environment.

Key duties include;

  • Support students with Special Educational Needs, disabilities and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, whilst contributing to the development of the Learning Support Department.
  • Provide assistance with teaching and learning of students (in class or 1:1 situations) under the instruction of the class teacher in order to maximise their participation and achievement.
  • Promote pupils' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Develop an understanding of the needs of the students in order to support them effectively
  • Contributing to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school.

Our client school currently has around 900 students on roll at present which is average when compared with other secondary school in the area. The proportion of pupils from a minority ethnic background is well above average, as is the proportion of boys. The proportion who speak English as an additional language is also well above average.

You can find the school on the Outskirts of Bolton and easily access it with a short drive from the M61. The school is in an ideal location if you are a user of public transport and can be easily accessed from surrounding areas Bury, Salford Wigan and Manchester.
