Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently taking applications in order to recruit for a number of Teaching Assistant roles at our client secondary school that is located within the Wigan LEA from September 2019.

This is an excellent opportunity for experience Teaching Assistants that are looking to secure their next role or for Graduates that now wish to gain experience in a secondary school setting.

  • Full-time Teaching Assistant
  • Competitive pay with earning potential of up to £1200 a month
  • Candidates of all experience levels to be considered - Support and training provided
  • Must hold or be willing to apply for a DBS that is registered to the update service
  • September 2019 start date

Who should apply for this role?

Teaching Assistant roles are perfect for Graduates that are looking to build their experience within a supportive secondary school prior to completing their teacher training in the future. This role is also ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants who are looking to secure a full-time position with progression opportunities and the potential to earn a permanent contract.

What will the role involve?

  • Providing support to the class teacher - Assisting with the management of student behaviour.
  • Working alongside students in class ensuring they are able to complete the work set by the class teacher and supporting them where necessary.
  • Working alongside pupils on a 1:1 basis, in and out of class to better the outcomes for each student.
  • Providing support to groups of identified students who may require additional support to achieve their target grades.

This secondary school is larger then the average school in the area and currently caters 950 pupils. The majority of students that attend our client school come from a white British background.

Located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre this school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Golborne and Tyldesley via the M6 motorway. There are also direct transport links from Wigan town centre.
