The Role:
As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  2. Assisting classroom teachers in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  3. Supporting students in developing essential skills, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  4. Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies to support student progress and well-being.
  5. Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and respected.
  6. Building positive relationships with students, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students with SEN.

Requirements:
To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school or similar setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to respond effectively to the individual needs of each child.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity within the school community.
