The Role:
As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assisting classroom teachers in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Supporting students in developing essential skills, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies to support student progress and well-being.
- Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and respected.
- Building positive relationships with students, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students with SEN.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary school or similar setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to respond effectively to the individual needs of each child.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity within the school community.
