Job description

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a secondary school in Blackpool who are seeking a resilient and dedicated teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a number of students identified as requiring additional support in academic and personal development.

Within this role, you will support the pupil with independent learning and group sessions. You will work alongside SENDCo, class teachers and parents to design effective learning resources for in school and at home learning. The teachers at this secondary school are dedicated to removing all barriers to learning and ensure that activities are adapted to suit the unique learning needs of the pupil.

  • £1700- £1900 per month (dependent on relevant experience and qualifications).
  • Paid weekly every Friday though PAYE.
  • September 2025 start.
  • Full-time contract
  • CPD provided

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification desired 
  • Proactive approach, able to take on initiative and adapt to the needs of pupils and staff.
  • Strong understanding of and dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. 

This secondary school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’, with the recent report stating that students with Special Educational Needs are strongly supported and make the same excellent progress as other pupils in the school. This school require a dedicated teaching assistant to uphold their excellent reputation in supporting SEND students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
