Are you passionate about supporting young people in their education? We’re looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join secondary schools across Durham from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in students’ academic and personal development.

Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside classroom teachers to provide tailored support to students, helping them stay focused, engaged, and confident in their learning.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support students in class, working one-to-one or with small groups
• Help maintain a well-managed, productive classroom environment
• Encourage student participation and help build confidence across subjects
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and general admin tasks
• Foster positive relationships with students and staff

We’re Looking For Educators Who Are:

• Supportive and encouraging, with a genuine interest in helping students thrive
• Strong communicators who can work closely with both pupils and teaching staff
• Organised, reliable, and proactive in their approach to classroom tasks
• Adaptable and calm under pressure, able to respond to a range of needs and situations

Requirements:

• Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• At least two references from a recent professional role
• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting (desirable)
