1:1 Behaviour & Support Assistant – Durham Secondary Schools

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Behaviour & Support Assistants to join friendly, supportive secondary schools in Durham. In this role, you'll provide tailored support to a pupil who requires consistency, encouragement, and personalised guidance to help them thrive.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering focused 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs throughout lessons and daily activities
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and adapt learning strategies
- Fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Supporting the student's social, emotional, and academic development
- Celebrating progress, big or small, every milestone counts
You need:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a 1:1 or small group capacity (desirable but not essential)
- Calm, caring, and consistent approach with strong communication skills
- Passion for inclusive education and desire to make a meaningful impact
- Resilience, patience, and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the pupil
- Valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
