Teaching Assistant for Secondary challenging behaviour

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist school for Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties who are seeking a behaviour support assistant on a full time basis, to commence as soon as possible working with students who are likely to display extremely challenging behaviour.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils aged 11-16; the students are in need of extra support and guidance during their lesson time. The main aspect of the role will be helping the students to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour throughout the day. You will be expected to monitor student's personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this and to provide support for yourself within the role. Students in this provision often display extremely challenging behaviour, as well as social emotional and mental health difficulties.
