The Role

As the Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences that support pupils throughout their final year of primary school.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Prepare pupils for SATs while ensuring a broad, balanced, and enjoyable learning experience
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data effectively to inform planning and intervention
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies that promote high expectations and positive outcomes
• Work closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and carers to support pupil achievement
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community and attend relevant professional development opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a passionate and motivated teacher who can inspire pupils to achieve their best during this important stage of their education.

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with Year 6 experience desirable
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and end-of-Key Stage assessments
• Possess excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Be able to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
• Have strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• Be confident using technology to enhance teaching and learning
• Show a genuine commitment to supporting every child to reach their full potential
