Programme Structure
Year 1 – Build Classroom Confidence as a Cover Supervisor
- Work full-time in a Manchester secondary school
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage whole-class learning
- Support behaviour management and pastoral care
- Observe experienced teachers and attend training sessions
- Develop professional confidence before entering formal training
This foundation year helps you become familiar with school life while gaining vital experience before stepping into teacher training.
Year 2 – Train to Teach: PGCE + QTS
- Begin your PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) through a university partner
- Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Continue your in-school placement in a teaching role
- Benefit from weekly mentor meetings, academic support, and professional development
- Learn by doing – teach your own classes with growing responsibility

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
