Train to Teach – Salaried Teacher Training Programme

2-Year Programme | Salary: £22,000–£25,000 per annum

Our Salaried Teacher Training Programme is a unique, fully-funded 2-year pathway designed to help you become a qualified secondary school teacher while gaining hands-on experience and earning a salary from day one. Programme Overview
Year 1: Cover Supervisor Placement
- Work full-time in a Manchester secondary school as a Cover Supervisor
- Develop essential classroom and behaviour management skills
- Support students across a range of subjects and year groups
- Receive regular mentoring and professional development
- Gain a deep understanding of school life and build your confidence in a real classroom environment
This year lays the foundation for your teaching career, providing the experience and insight you need to thrive in the next stage of your training.
Year 2: PGCE and QTS
- Begin a formal teacher training year while continuing to work in school
- Undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) through one of our partner universities
- Work towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Benefit from dedicated time for academic study alongside your school placement
- Continue to receive in-school mentoring, lesson observation feedback, and tailored support
You’ll graduate from the programme as a fully qualified teacher, ready to take up a permanent role in the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
