We are pleased to be recruiting for a Teacher in a PRU for pupils aged 11-14. Pupils from this school usually have a diagnosis of Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs. Most have had a disrupted school life and fall below the expected learning levels for children of their age nationally, so the school is actively seeking a Behavior Support to assist and nurture these pupils. To support you during your time at the school is the schools’ excellent team of mentors, a family liaison coordinator, a senior youth worker, form tutors and TA’s.

Your role as a Teacher would be to create lesson to meet the learners needs. This would include a curriculum based around academic and social progression. You would create lessons aimed to allow the young people to express themselves in a practical and easy way, as well as design tasks to help the young people succeed in their lives beyond the school with a key focus on independent living skills. The ideal Teacher would be a person who has:

• QTS

• A passion about working with young people

• Resilience and the ability to rise to a challenge

• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques

This provision is based in Salford and is easily accessible by car, bus and tram

In addition, you will need to complete all necessary vetting checks including proof of identity, a DBS on the Update Service and producing two recent references.
