Are you a qualified teacher and have experience working with SEN in some capacity?

Teaching Personnel work closely with SEN schools in the South Manchester area who will begin to open their Teacher vacancies after Easter for the following school year.

The students who attend SEN schools usually have a range of needs such as severe, profound or moderate learning disability, Autism spectrum condition, social and emotional mental health issues or other.
To apply, candidates must have dealt with Special Educational needs in some capacity, for example from another educational setting, care or support setting or from youth work. It is essential to be aware of appropriate behaviour management approaches which suit the children you are working with, however within the classroom you will be supported by teaching assistants who will control and manage most behaviour and personal care.

Teachers will be required to plan and deliver lessons according to the relevant curriculum, whilst creatively meeting a range of learning styles and incorporating active learning.
Many of the students will benefit most from a holistic and sensory approach to learning which also helps them to interact and involve themselves with others to help them develop socially and emotionally.

You will be expected to monitor the progress of the students according to their learning level, and assess what approach to take to help them to continue their educational development. Parent's will expect to liaise with you about their child's needs regularly, so an assuring and open personality would be necessary for this type of interaction.

Ideally, Teachers will have training in Team-Teach however Teaching Personnel can offer this course for free.

If you think this role sounds like the right challenge for you, please apply with your CV.
