SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Secondary SEN School

Redhill Area
Monday to Friday | 8:15am – 4:45pm | Full-Time

A welcoming specialist secondary SEN school in the Redhill area is looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.

The school supports young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and associated learning difficulties. They are looking for someone who can build strong relationships with students and provide consistent support to help them feel confident, settled and ready to learn.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support both in and outside the classroom.

  • Support students with learning, communication, emotional regulation and behaviour.

  • Help students stay engaged and access lessons in a way that works for them.

  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive social development.

  • Build trusting relationships with students and provide a calm, consistent presence.

  • Work alongside teachers and therapists to support individual needs and EHCP targets.

  • Contribute to a positive, safe and inclusive school environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.

  • Experience with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or similar additional needs.

  • Someone who is patient, calm and able to remain consistent in challenging situations.

  • A proactive approach and willingness to get involved across the school.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people and helping them make progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
