Teacher of Science- Wigan- February 2018

Teaching Personnel have been approached by one of our partner schools in Wigan to recruit for a Teacher of Science to start from February 2018 until the summer initially. There is also the possibility of this extending into the new academic year.

Due to an upcoming gap within the Science department, our client secondary school wish to appoint a Teacher of Science on a long term basis after February half term. There is also the possibility of a fixed-term contract being offered dependent upon effectiveness within the role.

Due to the timing of the appointment, the Head of Science is particularly looking to appoint a teacher who is competent enough to take on GCSE classes at a crucial time of the year and embed themselves within a new environment quickly.

Further, they are seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join a very successful department who has the ability to inspire, unite and motivate students, staff, parents/carers and the wider community.

You will be joining a dedicated Science team consisting of specialist teachers of Biology, Chemistry & Physics. Science is a very popular subject at the school with results consistently above the national average in recent years. The school has modern laboratory facilities which enhance the learning experiences for the pupils.

In its' most recent Ofsted report, the school's Senior Leadership team were commended for their commitment to continually raise standards. It also highlighted that the students are supportive of each other which cultures a harmonious learning environment.

The school is situated on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas.
