The school

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an SEN setting in Swanage, catering for pupils aged 7-19 with a diagnosis of Autism. The school offers day placements, as-well as 52 week residential placements. 

The Role

You will be working as a Residential Support Worker. This will involve supporting pupils within the residential homes and the classroom. 

On weekends, you will assist the young people on outings to local beaches and woodland areas as well as various planned activities.

Shifts are 12 hours long (08:00 – 20:00) and you will be working on a 2-week rolling rota:

• Week 1: Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
• Week 2: Wednesdays and Thursdays

Part time applicants will be considered, if you can work 12 hour shifts or 12:00 – 20:00 with some weekend availability.

Are you suitable?

Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have experience supporting children or adults with special needs, however this isn't required. If you do not have experience but have a confident and compassionate personality with a willingness to learn then we would love to hear from you. 

There will be personal care involved, so its important you are comfortable with this.

The school is not easily accessed by public transport, especially for the later finish time, so its essential you have a driving licence with a vehicle or a reliable lift.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
