Job description

Support Worker – SEN 

Are you a caring and reliable Support Worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of young children? We are seeking a nurturing Support Worker to join a specialist SEN early-years setting in Bury, supporting children with a range of additional needs in a warm and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children with SEN, helping them access play-based learning and daily routines.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage emotional regulation and engagement.

  • Assist with personalised support plans, EHCP targets and early developmental outcomes.

  • Work closely with SENCOs, therapists and teachers to provide consistent care.

  • Support personal care, sensory needs and communication development.

  • Maintain clear, accurate observations and safeguarding records.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in care, education, SEN support or similar roles.

  • A compassionate, patient and adaptable approach.

  • Monday–Friday availability.

  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
