Job description

Primary schools across the M6 area of Salford are seeking multiple Learning Support Assistants to join their teams on both a full‑time and part‑time basis. These positions are available for immediate starts and include opportunities for emergency cover, short‑term and long‑term absences, and ongoing gaps in staffing.

These schools are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s development and who are eager to contribute positively to the learning environment. While prior experience in a school setting is not essential, applicants must be committed, reliable, and able to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils. In these roles, you will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide general classroom assistance, encourage positive behaviour, and help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere.

Schools in Salford are open to considering candidates from a broad range of backgrounds. You may be an experienced SEN support assistant, a graduate seeking valuable school-based experience, or someone with a background in care, support work, youth work, or any role involving supporting individuals with additional needs. Existing experience with SEN or additional needs is desirable but not mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
