Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a lovely catholic Primary school in Prescot. The Head teacher is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting pupils with SEN. There is a strong sense of community at the school. Pupils understand equality and diversity. They know that everyone is different and that all will be included in their school. Older pupils enjoy supporting others by, for example, acting as play leaders. The school is located near multiple public transport links and A roads.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in providing essential support to students with diverse learning needs. You'll work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored strategies that promote student progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons.
  • Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with students with SEN.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Job role: 

  • Working hours: 8:35am - 3:00pm inc. a 30 minute lunch break 
  • Start date: 4th June 
  • Contract type: Temporary until October 2024 (potential to extend to December 2024 dependent on return of post-holder)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
