Full Time – SEN Teaching Assitant

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant 

Location: Maghull, Merseyside

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm

Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour.

Join our dedicated team at [Primary School Name] situated in the heart of Maghull, Merseyside, as a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant. This rewarding role involves providing crucial support to children across Key Stage 1, including Reception, Year 1, and Year 2, who have varying SEN requirements.

Responsibilities:

Individualized Support:  Provide tailored support to children with SEN requirements, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities and resources.

Assistance in Classroom: Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments, assisting with classroom activities and promoting positive behavior management strategies.

Personalized Learning: Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials to suit the needs of each child.

Emotional Support: Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with students, offering emotional support and encouragement to build their confidence and self-esteem.

Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external panels to ensure continuity of care and support for each child.

Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of student progress and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.

Inclusive Practices: Promote inclusivity and diversity within the school community, advocating for the needs of children with SEN and raising awareness among staff and peers.

Requirements:

-          Experience supporting children or adults with SEN requirements is essential, demonstrating empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in their well-being.

-          Experience within a Primary School setting is desirable but not essential; however, a willingness to learn and adapt to the school's ethos and practices is essential.

-          Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be advantageous but not mandatory.

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
