Supply Teacher
Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with a number of the secondary schools in the South Manchester area and are therefore looking for general supply teachers to register for day to day short term teaching work. Working closely with in excess of 30 secondary schools in the South Manchester area as well as building relationships with further schools, we have found the day to day work grow significantly in demand. Schools are finding themselves inundated with planned absences (as a result of in house courses and school trips for example). Compounding these absences with last minute sickness, they require supply teachers to go into school and cover for these absences.
As a general supply teacher working through Teaching Personnel, you will benefit from regular day to day work in the areas of Wythenshawe, Altrincham, Sale and South central Manchester including Burnage, Chorlton, Didsbury and Levenshulme. Depending on the school and LEA, pay is competitive and planning and marking is not expected as part of the general supply teaching role.
Highlights of the general supply teaching position:
- Earning potential up to £3000 per month depending on school and experience/specialism
- Teach in a variety of secondary schools in the South Manchester area
- Consistent teaching where schools often ask for the same teachers back providing continuity
- Plenty of work opportunities immediately and through until the end of the academic year
- Flexible working options where we can support with work 1 day per week or 5 days per week
- Regular CPD opportunities with Teaching Personnel and access to an online diary and system providing full flexibility
As a general supply teacher, you will have full flexibility over being available on a full time or part time basis. This role is ideal for qualified teachers of any experience looking for as much work as that which suits the individual’s personal schedule. This role is also ideal for teachers looking for an introduction to a longer term, more permanent position as we find general supply teaching can lead to a medium term placement if applicable for the teacher.
Working with numerous secondary schools, we find that a lot of the general supply teaching work can come through on a day to day basis reactively receiving calls from schools first thing each morning. We also get a lot of proactive and pre-emptive calls where schools will book a general supply teacher in advance which can benefit those teachers looking to pre plan childcare and personal schedules.
If you are a qualified teacher looking for general supply teaching work in the South Manchester area then apply now for an immediate call back to register. Please apply advising on your preference and current situation and updated CV if possible.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
