Teaching Personnel is working closely with a school based in the south of Bristol, near Bedminster. It is looking for sports graduates as part of the role will be working in the PE department coaching pupils in football, cricket and rugby. This role is full-time and to start in September and is likely to be for the academic year. You will be expected to perform two key roles: support pupils in sport and support pupils in class as a teaching assistant.
The school is set among the grounds of a country estate and has views of natural beauty. However, this is not a rural school and most pupils come from inner-city and south of Bristol.
The school has been praised for it's high achievement and good behaviour. This is what OFSTED had to say: "Behaviour and safety are good. Students behave well in lessons and around the school. They show very positive attitudes to learning. They feel safe in school."
You will need be have a degree level qualification or equivalent in sports to to be eligible for this. If not, have coaching qualifications in Rugby, football or cricket with work too.This is NOT just a sport role so you will need to support pupils' pastoral and academic needs. This means you need to be patient, confident and resilient, particularly with the more challenging students.
