Special Needs Teaching Assistant Needed in North Yorkshire

I am working with 4 excellent Mainstream Primary Schools based in Knaresborough, Ripon, Harrogate and Starbeck who are looking for teaching assistants to join them this term. These are 1:1 SEN opportunities for graduates or experienced teaching assistants each of the schools i am wirking with are to support a SEN Child at school currently working in Reception - Year 6. A one year contract is on offer and there are currently 4 vacancies open; one to work with a child with ASD, one to support a child with EBD and another to work with a child with SEMH. A teaching assistant with experience in a similar position or a theoretical understanding of SEN is suitable for this role.

The Primary schools would ideally like to meet candidates who have a degree and who have some experience working with Special Educational Needs e.g. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia. The roles will entail a variety of responsibilities and will offer excellent experience for the teaching assistants appointed. Minimum standards will include Maths and English at GCSE graded C or above.

£60-£85 per day (DOE)

January - February Start

The Primary schools in Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Starbeck are looking for dynamic teaching assistants who are energetic and passionate about their input into a child's education. The teaching assistant will be supporting the children in their numeracy and literacy within EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and the teaching assistant's primary role will be to ensure each child is fulfilling the learning objective for each lesson.

There are SEND children within each class and your role will be to support their individual needs. The needs include ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, global delay, SEMH, physical and behavioural challenges. Experience working with one or more of these is ideal for this role.

This is a fantastic platform for aspiring teachers to gain valuable experience in preparation for completing their teacher training the following year.

Teaching Personnel

These partners deliver an extensive range of career developing opportunities to you, covering areas such as; Accredited Team Teach, Understanding and Supporting Children and Adults on the Autism Spectrum, An Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disability, Effective Adult Learning Support, Implications for Challenging Behaviour, Meeting the Emotional, Social and Mental Health Needs of Children and Young People, Differentiation, Data Handling, Assessment for Learning, Planning for Progression, Prevent Duty, Read Write Inc. and Child Protection in Education. In addition to this we work alongside many leaders of education and have our own ex-head teacher that provides candidates with bespoke, high-quality training. The CPD on offer will assist with your personal and career development, making you the most highly sought candidates in the market.
