Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term time only
Salary: £22,996 – £25,068 per annum (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications)
Hourly Rate: £12.87 – £14.03 per hour

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. This role is ideal for individuals looking to move into education, care or support work, even if you have not previously worked in a school or college setting.

You will build positive, trusted relationships with students, always placing their wellbeing, safety and personal development first. Working alongside teaching staff, you will help deliver a broad and balanced curriculum on-site and in the community. The role is varied and flexible, involving one-to-one support where needed, as well as working with small groups. Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation is an important part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students’ learning, progress and growing independence
  • Assist with the planning, delivery and review of education programmes, plans and reports
  • Contribute to assessing, recording and reporting on student progress
  • Encourage independence and life skills at every opportunity
  • Maintain accurate, clear and up-to-date records
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Promote positive social behaviours and self-regulation skills

Who This Role Is For

You don’t need prior experience — we’re looking for people with the right values, patience and willingness to learn. We will provide all relevant training.

You do need to drive and have access to a vehicle as the school is not easily accessed by public transport routes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
