We cater for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are committed to providing a supportive, structured and nurturing environment where every learner can succeed.

About the Role
- Deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons tailored to individual needs
- Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum expectations (up to GCSE Level)
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with learners
- Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and external professionals
- Contribute to individual support plans and behaviour strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience working with students with SEMH, SEND, or additional needs (desirable but not essential for the right candidate)
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
- Be patient, empathetic and emotionally resilient
- Understand trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches
- Have high expectations while maintaining a nurturing and flexible approach
- Show creativity in adapting lessons to re-engage reluctant learners
Essential Skills & Personal Qualities:
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a firm but fair manner
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A consistent and structured approach to classroom management
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
