Job description

SEND & SEMH Education Roles | Flexible Opportunities Across East Sussex

I’m a recruitment consultant with a background in SEND education, working closely with specialist schools across East Sussex.

I’m currently looking to connect with reliable, thoughtful educators who are open to new opportunities within SEND and SEMH settings.

Rather than advertising a single vacancy, I work with a range of schools offering different roles, environments and working patterns. My aim is to match educators with settings where they feel supported, confident, and able to do their best work.

If you’re looking for variety, flexibility, or a fresh start in education, this could be a great next step.

What This Could Look Like for You

Depending on your experience, interests and availability, opportunities may include:

  • Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant roles

  • Classroom support positions

  • 1:1 pupil support

  • SEND and SEMH teaching roles

  • Behaviour and engagement support roles

  • Short-term, long-term or ongoing placements

  • Roles across primary and secondary SEND settings

Some educators are looking for stability in one school.
Others enjoy variety and the opportunity to experience different environments.

Both approaches are welcome.

Who This Will Suit

This opportunity is ideal if you:

  • Have experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)

  • Are calm, resilient and confident building relationships

  • Enjoy adapting to different environments and learning on the job

  • Want honest conversations about what roles will (and won’t) suit you

Experience within SEND or SEMH is beneficial but not essential. Many roles offer ongoing training and support, so the right attitude and willingness to learn matter just as much as experience.

Why Register Rather Than Apply to One Role?

  • Access to multiple SEND opportunities across East Sussex

  • Roles available throughout the county, including areas such as Crowborough, Hastings, Battle, Eastbourne and surrounding locations

  • Flexibility and choice over where and how you work

  • Honest insight into schools and expectations

  • Ongoing opportunities without repeatedly applying for new roles

  • Support from a consultant who understands SEND education and classroom realities

Practical Details

  • Opportunities available across East Sussex

  • Immediate and upcoming roles

  • Teaching roles paid to scale

  • Teaching Assistant / LSA roles £89.38 per day

  • A child-only DBS is required for school-based work. If you do not currently hold one, you will need to apply and pay for a DBS and register it on the Update Service. Guidance is provided throughout the process.

Interested?

If you’re an educator looking for SEND work with purpose, flexibility and variety, I’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and let’s have a conversation about what opportunities across East Sussex could work best for you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
