Job description

SEN Outreach Tutor Needed – Support Learners Across Shaftesbury

TP Tutors is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Outreach Tutors to provide tailored educational support for children and young people in Shaftesbury and nearby areas.

If you have a background in education, mentoring, care, or youth support and want a flexible role where you can genuinely impact lives, we would love to hear from you.

Location: Shaftesbury and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible full-time or part-time work available
Delivery Method: One-to-one in-person tuition

About the Opportunity

This role involves supporting learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, SEMH challenges, and emotionally based school avoidance.

Tutors will help learners rebuild confidence, develop independence, and reconnect positively with education through personalised learning sessions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored tuition sessions
  • Differentiate learning approaches to suit learner needs
  • Promote confidence, resilience, and engagement
  • Monitor academic and emotional progress
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Provide consistent and supportive learning experiences
  • Travel to sessions across Shaftesbury and nearby areas

We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people preferred
  • Applicants from tutoring, SEN, support work, teaching, or mentoring backgrounds encouraged
  • Calm, understanding, and flexible personality
  • Good time management and communication abilities
  • Awareness of safeguarding procedures
  • Willingness to travel locally for tuition sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
