Job description

SEN Tutor Vacancies – Make a Difference Across Bournemouth

TP Tutors is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutors to provide in-person, one-to-one support for children and young people across Bournemouth and nearby areas.

Role: SEN Tutor
Location: Bournemouth and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available
Delivery: Face-to-face tuition 

About the Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will support learners who require alternative or additional educational provision outside of mainstream classroom settings. The young people you work with may experience needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH difficulties, anxiety, or disrupted education.

Your role will involve planning and delivering personalised sessions that build confidence, encourage engagement, and help students achieve meaningful academic and personal progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition sessions in person
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual learning needs
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with learners
  • Promote confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Track progress and adjust learning approaches where appropriate
  • Liaise effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals
  • Create a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment
  • Travel to students’ homes or community settings across Bournemouth and nearby areas

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous
  • Applicants from teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or support backgrounds are encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach
  • Organised and reliable with a learner-focused mindset
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Must be happy to commute for face-to-face tutoring sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
