SEN Tutor Opportunities Available – Flexible Work in Loughborough & Surrounding Areas

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs?

TP Tutors is currently recruiting dedicated SEN Tutors to provide high-quality, personalised 1:1 tuition across Loughborough and surrounding areas. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable learners.


The Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver tailored learning sessions designed around each learner’s individual needs, EHCP targets, and learning style. Many students may be out of mainstream education or require support to re-engage with learning.

Your role will focus on:

  • Building trust and positive relationships with learners
  • Delivering engaging, accessible, and differentiated lessons
  • Supporting emotional regulation and confidence building
  • Helping learners progress academically and personally
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet complex needs

• Loughborough
• Shepshed
• Quorn
• Mountsorrel
• Surrounding Leicestershire areas


Subjects / Learning Support Areas

Depending on learner needs:

  • English, Maths, Science (core support)
  • Primary curriculum catch-up
  • Functional and life skills
  • Intervention and bespoke SEN learning programmes
  • Confidence building and re-engagement learning

Learner Needs You May Support

You may work with students who have:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Anxiety-related school avoidance (EBSA)
  • Additional learning or behavioural needs

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking tutors who are:

✔ Experienced working with SEN learners (essential or strong desirable)
✔ Patient, calm, and resilient in challenging situations
✔ Confident building rapport with hard-to-reach learners
✔ Skilled in adapting lessons to individual needs
✔ Passionate about inclusive education and learner progress


Desirable Experience

  • SEN teaching or support roles
  • SEMH or behaviour mentoring
  • Alternative provision experience
  • 1:1 tutoring or intervention work
  • Experience working with EHCP targets

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
