SEN 1:1 Tutor – Leicestershire Area
Location: Leicestershire (including Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, and surrounding areas)
Hours: Flexible – During School Hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Part-Time / Flexible
About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced and passionate SEN 1:1 Tutors to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Leicestershire.
Working in partnership with local schools and education providers, tuition sessions will be delivered on a one-to-one basis in a variety of settings, including:
- Pupils' homes
- School settings
- Local libraries

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored and engaging 1:1 tuition sessions for pupils with SEN.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Support pupils across core subjects, primarily English and Maths.
- Create structured, supportive, and positive learning environments.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress effectively.
- Work collaboratively with schools, parents/carers, and wider professionals.
- Maintain strong safeguarding awareness and follow all compliance procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK.
- Strong understanding and experience of supporting pupils with SEN.
- Experience working with pupils with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex learning difficulties.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel across Leicestershire.
Desirable Experience
- Previous SEN tutoring or alternative provision experience.
- Experience working in PRU, special schools, or outreach settings.
- Ability to differentiate learning across a wide range of abilities.
- Experience engaging pupils who are currently out of mainstream education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
