Job description

SEN Tutor in Cholsey, Oxfordshire
£20–£30 per hour | Flexible Hours | Part-Time/Contract

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to work with students in Cholsey and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.

You’ll be confident working with primary and/or secondary aged students, and skilled at designing and delivering individualised learning plans across Key Stages 1 to 4, with a focus on Maths and English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one or small-group tuition in Maths and English (KS1–KS4)

  • Assess learners' individual needs and tailor teaching accordingly

  • Create and follow bespoke schemes of work based on student profiles

  • Adapt resources and teaching methods to suit a range of SEN learners

  • Track progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, dyslexia)

  • Strong understanding of primary and/or secondary curriculum

  • Ability to plan, assess and deliver tailored learning sessions

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
