Job description

Job Title: Specialist Tutor – Oxford (1:1 Support)
Location: Oxford
Pay: £20 - £30 per hour

About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated tutors to work alongside local authorities and schools in Oxford, providing 1:1 support to students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA), Looked After Children (LAC), and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised 1:1 tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs

  • Collaborate closely with local authorities and school staff to ensure cohesive support

  • Assess student abilities and design bespoke schemes of work

  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly

  • Provide encouragement and guidance to help students overcome barriers to learning

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a minimum of 3 years tutoring experience

  • Experience supporting students with complex needs such as ASD, ADHD, EBSA, LAC

  • Strong skills in assessment, planning, and delivering tailored educational programmes

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider support team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
