SEN Teaching Assistant - Portsmouth

A Secondary Special Needs school in Portsmouth are looking for an SEN experienced TA to provide support to their pupils. The school cater for pupils between the ages of 11 and 16 years old. Pupils in attendance have complex needs to include learning difficulties, communication disorders, language impairments and autism.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with people with special needs, and have an understanding of their needs. The candidate will be caring and patient and be prepared to muck in and use their initiative. Building relationships with both the staff and pupils are imperative, as is having the flexibility to assist in a variety of situations.

Makaton or Team Teach qualifications will be beneficial, but is not essential. A typical school day will start at 08:30 and finish at 15:30.
