SEN Teaching Assistant - PMLD - Middlebrough

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a primary school in Middlesbrough to recruit a teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The successful candidate must have relevant experience working with children with learning difficulties and be fully dedicated to this role. The role is for full time work, commencing in September 2019.

As a classroom assistant, you will be working with children in Key Stages 1 and 2, accompanied by a teacher. The children you will be working with will have a variety of learning and special needs requirements, so a desire to help and exposure to similar PMLD and SEND settings will be required. The role will involve:

• Assisting day to day classroom support and assisting with behaviour
• Developing good relationships with pupils
• Encouraging students to interact with other students within the classroom and activities led by the teacher
