Design & Technology Teacher (Food Specialism Preferred)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school in the Taunton Area to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher, ideally with a Food Technology specialism.

This is an exciting opportunity for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and Experienced DT/Food teach Teachers that are looking to join a supportive and well-resourced department. The role may lead to longer-term or permanent opportunities for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons, with a focus of Food Technology

  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the national curriculum

  • Promote safe working practices within practical and kitchen environments

  • Inspire students to develop creativity, independence and essential life skills

  • Supportive leadership team and collaborative Technology department

  • Well-equipped food preparation rooms and DT facilities

  • Positive behaviour policies and strong safeguarding procedures

  • Located within easy reach of Taunton and surrounding areas

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified DT Teacher (QTS/QTLS) or ECT

  • Specialism or strong experience in Food Technology

  • Confident delivering practical lessons safely and effectively

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Passionate about developing students’ practical and creative skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
