Job description

An 'Outstanding School' for pupils aged 3 to 19 years with autism and complex needs are seeking Teaching Assistants to join their budding team.

It is a happy, friendly school where pupils are encouraged and supported to learn to achieve. Each child and young person within our school is treated as a unique individual and the multi-disciplinary approach to learning provides the opportunities for them to reach their full potential.

Teaching Personnel regularly recruit friendly, enthusiastic, hard working and reliable people to work as Teaching Assistants, as part of a team under the direction of our class teachers. To work at an 'Outstanding School', you need good communication skills and relate well to children.

You must be willing to work flexibly across the school as required, and whilst experience with special needs children is desirable. A positive attitude is more important along with a sense of humour!

You will ideally need

  • Live in Hammersmith and Fulham area
  • Full-time availability
  • Experience working with children/young people with autism and complex needs
  • Confidence in behaviour management
  • Confidence in dealing with pupils with a variety of educational needs
  • Confidence supporting in Maths, English and humanities

Successful applicants will need to provide references and hold an up to date child only DBS registered onto the £13 update service.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
