SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
Start a Rewarding Career Supporting Children with Additional Needs – No Previous School Experience Required
Are you looking for a fulfilling role where you can make a difference to children? Do you have experience working in care, sports coaching, youth work, or tutoring? If so, your skills and passion could be just what we’re looking for.
We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to work as Learning Support Assistants (LSA's) in schools across the area, supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH). This is an excellent opportunity for those with transferable skills who are keen to begin or further a career in education.
No experience working in schools? That’s absolutely fine. We understand that everyone has to start somewhere, which is why we provide a free, comprehensive online training course designed to equip you with essential knowledge of school policies, safeguarding procedures, and the role of an LSA. In addition to the training, you will receive full support throughout the vetting process and in preparation for interviews with schools.
As the largest education recruitment agency in the region, we have longstanding partnerships with a wide network of schools. This allows us to offer regular interview opportunities in the lead-up to the new academic year, helping you to secure a position starting in September.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in:
-
Residential care or support work
-
Sports coaching and physical activity programmes
-
Youth work or mentoring
-
Private tutoring or academic support roles
What we’re looking for:
-
A genuine interest in working with children with additional needs
-
Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude
-
The ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
-
Ideally available to work five days per week, during term time only (although we will consider those available four days per week)
-
GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
-
A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
This role offers a fantastic entry point into the education sector, whether you’re looking for a long-term career in teaching support or exploring a new path working with children.
If you’re ready to make a difference and start a rewarding new chapter, we want to hear from you. Apply today and let us help you take the next step toward a meaningful role in education.
