SEN Teaching Assistant
Manchester
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs?
Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant from September 2019.
This is a full time position, working 40 hours per week (during term time only) in our client school located in South Manchester.
As a Teaching Assistant at our client school, you will work closely with the schools SENCO and will support in a variety of roles including:
- Providing classroom support to students with Special Educational Needs
- Assisting with pupil behaviour
- Delivering 1:1 interventions and assisting in small group work
- Helping to plan lessons by preparing material and resources
The successful candidate will have a passion for working with pupils and will have experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs. They will be able to establish positive relationships with students and will act as a positive role model. They will be able to demonstrate practical, hands on approach and will go above and beyond to support pupils with Special Educational Needs.
All applicants will need to hold a C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
Our client school is a vibrant secondary school with just over 900 pupils on roll. The school is based in South Manchester and is located just a short drive from the city centre, easily accessible via public transport and Metrolinks. The school has been nationally and locally recognised for its continuous improvement and received a positive Ofsted report that judged the school to be 'Good' in all areas.
