SEN Teaching Assistant

A co-education secondary school in the central Manchester area is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them at the start of the new academic year. This is to start in September providing that the national school closure will have come to an end at this point.

This is a full time requirement for a Teaching Assistant to work and support 5 days per week for the duration of the school academic year 2020/2021. The successful SEN TA will be working with all year groups, supporting students across all year groups in small groups. Working with those students with a variety of SEN including Autism, ADHD and general SEMH, you should have experience with this.  Any graduates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply whether this experience comes from supporting in a school, youth work or care setting.

The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) said of the role:

“We are looking for a special educational needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team at the beginning of the new academic year in September. The successful SEN TA should have relevant experience of supporting students who have various special educational needs which could have come from a school environment, care setting or personal experience. The suitable SEN TA will be working with a selection of students, including one who has Autism and generally support others within the classroom. You will be a part of our large team of support staff initially being employed via a supply basis but with the possibility of progressing on to a school based contract”

The school is an excellent, extremely reputable secondary school based in the city centre of Manchester. Specifically situated just outside the city centre, it is easily accessible via public transport but also a large secure on-site car park for those travelling by car.

• Pay ranging between GBP1350 - 1450 per month depending on experience and skillset

The school’s SENCO oversees the support staff within this large secondary school and is keen to have the successful SEN TA start as soon as possible at the beginning of the new academic year. The school are therefore looking for an effective TA who has the ability to engage with students aged between 11 and 16 but is flexible and adaptable in their approach. The school is highly supportive of all staff and will offer the successful TA various training opportunities.
