A secondary school in the South of Manchester is looking to recruit a SEN teaching assistant. This was a requirement for the Autumn term but as a result of changes in the timetable, the SEN TA is now required to start in January or sooner if applicable. The successful SEN teaching assistant will be assisting within the classroom, working with students that require support on an academic level or with those students who are of lower ability than their peers. Any TAs who are experienced in supporting young people with special educational needs such as Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties or ADHD are encouraged to apply as below.
The SEN teaching assistant will benefit from the support of the school as well as Teaching Personnel. There are opportunities to complete professional development courses through our online academy and a highly supportive SEN department at this secondary school. Reporting to the SENCO, the successful SEN TA will be working within a team of support staff with their own timetable to work through and a list of students who have been identified as requiring specific support.
As a successful and confident SEN TA, you should have relevant experience in supporting either in a secondary school setting or with students in an educational environment.
Highlights of this SEN TA position:
- Rates of pay ranging from GBP350 - GBP425 per week depending upon hours and responsibility
- Full time SEN teaching assistant role
- Highly rewarding job role working as a SEN teaching assistant, supporting the most vulnerable students
- Working alongside qualified professionals; opportunities to network within this large SEN department
- Regular training and CPD opportunities direct with the school and Teaching Personnel
The specific role of a SEN teaching assistant will be to support specific students who have been identified from their educational health care plans with the special educational needs department putting provisions in place to provide the support required to enhance the student’s learning experience. Any experience supporting students on a 1:1 basis who might have moderate learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, dyslexia or social emotional behaviour support will be highly desirable.
This secondary school is situated in the South Manchester area making it very easy to access from the city centre or nearby areas of Tameside, Blakeley or Stockport. The school has fantastic facilities and a large on site SEN provision. The school is located near the local train station and is regularly serviced by buses.
If you are a teaching assistant currently or have experience in supporting any young people with special needs, then apply now with your latest CV outlining your experience.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
