SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS18

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £77 - £95 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in the classroom
  • Assisting the teacher in planning and delivering tailored educational activities
  • Providing one-on-one support to pupils who require extra help
  • Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with behaviour management and encouraging positive behaviour
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people
  • Knowledge of SEN and different learning needs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Experience working with children with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the principles of child development
  • Familiarity with SEN strategies and interventions
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Additional training in specific areas of SEN

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours may vary based on school requirements
  • Regular interaction with pupils, teachers, and parents
  • Potential for some physical activity, such as assisting with mobility or personal care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
