SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS8

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Duties:

  • Supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored teaching activities
  • Providing one-to-one support for students with SEN to help them access the curriculum
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborating with other professionals, parents, and carers to support student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEN

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

Previous experience working with children with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Training in specific interventions for students with SEN

Working Conditions:

  • Working in a school environment with students with SEN
  • Full-time hours, temporary position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
