Job Duties:

The Y5 SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the Year 5 teaching team to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom. Responsibilities include providing one-to-one support, assisting with lesson planning and delivery, implementing individual education plans, and helping to create a supportive learning environment for all students.

Required Qualifications:

- Relevant experience working with children with SEN (predominantly SEN, ASD and ADHD)

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Experience:

- Previous experience working in a similar role within a school setting

Knowledge and Skills:

- Understanding of SEN support strategies and best practises

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

- Additional training in specific areas of SEN support

- First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

- Work primarily within a classroom setting

- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday

- Collaborative work environment with teaching staff and students

- Temporary position with the possibility of extension

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
